Collective Action to Ensure Children and Families Flourish: DLH to Serve as Sponsor of Upcoming CWLA National Conference

DLH is a proud sponsor of the Child Welfare League of America: CWLA 2022 National Conference.

Titled The Fierce Urgency of Now: Collective Action to Ensure Children and Families Flourish, the conference is scheduled to be held at the Hyatt Regency Capitol Hill in Washington, DC, from April 27-29, 2022.

On Thursday April 28, DLH Child Welfare Strategy and Practice Lead, Jeff Lukich, CWLA Fellow Paul DiLorenzo, and former LA County DCFS Director, Bobby Cagle will facilitate an Action Lab on ‘Overcoming the Workforce Crisis in Public Child Welfare.’ Participants will engage in a solution-focused conversation regarding the current state workforce issues in child welfare and how our investment in human capital is critical to the quality of services delivered to children and families. The facilitators will explore national data on turnover in child welfare and comparable industries, discuss recruitment and retention issues, address the impact on staff and the families they serve, and highlight promising practices.
