Maggie Schmitt, MPH
Qualitative Researcher/Health Communications Specialist
Maggie Schmitt, MPH, is a qualitative researcher and health communications specialist with over 15 years of experience in global health research, including humanitarian emergencies and low-resource settings around the world. Her work has focused on women’s and adolescent health, prenatal environmental health, water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH), and strengthening health systems. Maggie has collaborated extensively with international non-governmental organizations, ministries of health, United Nations agencies, and community-based organizations, driving efforts to translate research into actionable policies and practices. This includes the development of interactive toolkits, health education resources, open-access online courses, and training materials for emergency response practitioners. Maggie received her MPH in Population and Family Health from Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health, following her studies in Global Health and History at Northwestern University.
