Analyzing Rare Events Data in Developmental Toxicology Studies
DLH senior analyst Shawn Harris presented a poster at the 2018 American Statistical Society Joint Statistics Meeting. The poster described data analyses for rare events data found in rodent developmental toxicology studies, where fetal defect rates are often very low in the control or low-dose groups. It provided an example of how contradictory results may arise from certain analysis methods, and discussed how small changes in implementation details of these methods can affect their power. Other authors of the poster included researchers from the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences.
