Chronic Antibiotic Use and Weight Change
DLH health researcher Sandra Deming-Halverson is among the authors of an article in PLOS ONE that examined associations between chronic antibiotic use and weight among adults in the general population. The researchers concluded that chronic use may have long-lasting impacts on body mass index (BMI). These findings are based on data from the NIEHS Sister Study. Other authors include researchers from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, University of Arizona, and the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences.
