DLH Makes an Impact with Back to School Project
Through DLH Cares, we demonstrate our company’s commitment to expanding our impact through community service. This August, DLHers gathered for our annual Back to School Community Service Project. This is an opportunity to support local students in need as they embark on a new school year filled with endless possibilities. At DLH facilities around the country, our volunteers filled backpacks with essential school supplies so that students in the communities in which we live and work have the tools they need to succeed.
In total, DLH packed over 450 backpacks for local students. These kits were then donated to several nonprofit organizations. Partners included Kids on Point, a Charleston, SC-based organization that enhances potential through academics, athletics, enrichment opportunities, and access to basic resources, Maryland-based Sheppard Pratt and Hearts and Homes for Youth, which provides services for mental health, special education, substance use, developmental disability, and substance use and delivers foster care and group home programs for children, teens, and young mothers, respectively, as well as Community Partners of Dallas, a provider of urgent resources to children experiencing abuse and neglect.
We strive to make a positive impact in our communities. Thank you to all those on Team DLH who participated either virtually or in person!
