Ian Buller, PhD
Geospatial Epidemiologist & Environmental Health Scientist
Dr. Ian Buller has over a decade of experience in environmental epidemiology, specializing in geospatial statistics to study the health impacts of climate change, including direct effects (e.g., excess heat), contributing factors (e.g., traffic-related air pollution), and resulting consequences (e.g., wildfire–related air pollution). He designs infrastructure to compute geographic information system (GIS)-based exposure metrics, perform geographical linkages, and conduct geostatistical analyses for environmental epidemiologic studies. Dr. Buller received his PhD in Environmental Health Sciences from Emory University after a concurrent BA/MA in Ecology & Evolutionary Biology from the University of Colorado – Boulder. He has completed additional Climate & Health training from the National Center for Atmospheric Research and advised the City of Atlanta on the public health co-benefits of their Climate Action Plan.
