Responsible Citizenship through Volunteerism: DLH Kicks Off 2024 National Window of Service for Veterans

September 11 marked the beginning of DLH’s National Window of Service for Veterans (NWS)! This annual service campaign runs from September 11, Patriot Day, to November 11, Veterans Day. During NWS, DLH employees from across the country will engage in events to volunteer, thank, and honor Veterans in the communities in which we live and work.  

DLH kicked off this year’s NWS by partnering with the 9/11 Day Foundation, an organization that has worked to transform September 11 into the largest day of service in America, officially recognized under federal law. We gathered for a day of service, unity, and remembrance to pay tribute to the 9/11 victims, survivors, first responders, and military members who bravely responded that day, helping pack over 3,000 meals to be distributed to individuals and families facing food insecurity in our local communities.
