Risk Alleles for Crohn’s Disease
DLH health researcher John McGrath is among the authors of an article in the American Journal of Physiology – Gastrointestinal and Liver Physiology that describes an examination of risk loci that other genetic association studies have identified as associated with Crohn’s Disease. The results of this study show for the first time that subjects with risk alleles at the two loci have dysregulated expression of a wide array of genes that regulate inflammation and autophagy. Other authors include researchers from the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences and Duke University School of Medicine.
