Sleep and Cardiometabolic Health among Blacks and Whites
DLH research scientist W. Braxton Jackson II is among the authors of an article in Sleep Health that reports on an investigation of black-white disparities in suboptimal sleep and cardiometabolic health in both government-assisted and non-assisted rental housing based on data from about 81,000 black and white participants in the National Health Interview Survey. Results show that there were no racial disparities in short-sleep duration, and that cardiometabolic health disparities varied by sex. Other authors include researchers from the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences, the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, and Harvard University.
